Dad mentioned to me that he's now got that horrible song "Winchester Cathedral" stuck in his head. I have the same problem. Just to spread the deep hurting around, here's the definitive version by The New Vaudeville Band. It's the second song of the set preceded by one of their more forgettable tunes.
It went to number one in the US in 1966. The next time somebody is telling you how awful today's music is, well, they're right, but music of the past wasn't much better.
